Dear Church,
God’s Redemptive Story Shapes Our Mission Today! Every Sunday, when we gather as God’s people, we are reminded that our faith is part of a much bigger story. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible tells one great story: God’s redemptive work in the world. The story begins with creation, where God made all things good and created humanity to live in loving relationship with Him and with one another. Yet sin brought brokenness, suffering, and separation. But God did not abandon His creation. Throughout history, He has been working to rescue, restore, and redeem. This story reaches its centre in Jesus Christ. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus made a way for us to be reconciled to God. The cross reveals the depth of God’s love, and the resurrection assures us that death and darkness will not have the final word. In Christ, we are forgiven and redeemed into a new way of life. As we consider God’s mission, Deuteronomy 31 offers an important reminder. As Joshua prepared to lead the people into an uncertain future, God’s promise was clear: He would go with them. “The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” God’s people could move forward with courage, not because the journey would be easy, but because God’s presence would accompany them. This same assurance shapes our mission today. We are not asked to serve God in our own strength. In Matthew 28, Jesus gives His followers the Great Commission: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” These words remind us that God’s redemptive story does not end with us receiving His grace. We have been redeemed and are now sent to participate in His mission. We are called to share the good news, make disciples, and help others discover the transforming love of Jesus. The Great Commission also ends with a wonderful promise: “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Like God’s promise in Deuteronomy, Jesus assures His people that we never go alone. As a church family, our worship, prayer, fellowship, service, and outreach all flow from this calling. We are invited to be witnesses of Christ’s love, bringing hope, reconciliation, and compassion to a broken world. May we therefore move forward with faith and courage. God goes before us, Christ sends us, and the Holy Spirit empowers us. We are part of God’s great redemptive story - and together, we have the privilege of making His love known. God Bless, Amutha
