Dear Church,
Let us Journey Towards Oneness with God! Our journey on this earth is like a pilgrim’s journey. At times, we may feel lonely and frustrated, even when we are surrounded by our loved ones. Yet, we hold firmly to the belief that God is always carrying us through this journey. Why not, therefore, explore together what it means to journey towards oneness with God? To begin our journey, we need to know about God. Our primary resource for knowing about God is Scripture. The entire Bible beautifully reveals the attributes and almighty power of God. Therefore, we must develop a disciplined habit of reading His Word. We should also train ourselves to know more about Him through literature, songs, stories, and the experiences of others who have walked with God. Knowing God is different from merely knowing about Him. This stage takes us into a closer spiritual walk, a relationship with God, His Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. I have begun to see God as my Father, Jesus as my Friend and the Holy Spirit as my close Companion and Guide. We need to share with our Triune God the things that we share with those with whom we have relationships on earth. We must cultivate the habit of taking everything to Him. As we do so, we begin to realise that He listens to us and communicates with us. Knowing about God and knowing Him personally lead us into an inner chamber of His presence. When we remain in His presence, our body, soul, mind, and spirit become connected with the Holy Spirit. That divine oneness is something no human words can fully explain. When we reach this stage, we begin to deny ourselves, become ready to carry the cross, and remain determined to continue our journey in oneness with Him. As Paul reminds us, we do not need to be controlled by the judgement of others; instead, we examine ourselves continually so that we may grow in closeness and intimacy with God. This overflowing inner experience of remaining in God's presence inevitably touches those around us. It becomes an outward expression and evidence of our walk with Jesus. God's presence becomes increasingly constant in our awareness, and shepherding people and serving humanity become more natural and a spontaneous desire. This, I believe, is the journey: from knowing about God, to knowing God, to experiencing His presence within us, and finally allowing that divine relationship to overflow into the way we love God and serve others. May our journey continually draw us closer to God and, through Him, closer to one another. God Bless, Amutha
