Dear Church,
As we approach Holy Week, our hearts turn toward this sacred and meaningful season. For some, this marks the end of the Lenten practices they have faithfully observed over the past forty days. For others, it may have been a challenging journey. Nevertheless, our sacrifices and spiritual disciplines are not meant to end here, rather they are invitations to ongoing transformation. As we enter Holy Week, we are invited to journey with Jesus through the most significant days of His earthly ministry. This sacred time calls us to reflect deeply on His love, His sacrifice, and the hope we have through His resurrection. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday, when we remember Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Crowds welcomed Him with joy, laying down palm branches and praising Him as King. Let us ask ourselves: Is He truly the King of our lives, or only when it is convenient? As the week unfolds, the tone shifts, drawing us into the deeper meaning of Christ’s mission. On Monday, Jesus cleansed the temple courts, driving out those who were buying and selling. He overturned the tables of the money changers. This challenges us to reflect: What “temples” in our own hearts need to be cleansed? On Holy Tuesday, Jesus taught through parables such as the ten virgins, reminding us of readiness and faithfulness. Are we spiritually prepared and faithful to God’s call, even amid struggles? Holy Wednesday, often called Spy Wednesday, recalls Judas plotting to betray Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. We must ask ourselves: In what ways might we be compromising our faith for selfish desires? On Maundy Thursday, we remember the Last Supper, where Jesus gave the command to love one another as He has loved us. Are we living in humility and serving one another in unity? Good Friday brings us to the cross, where Jesus offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice. As we reflect on His suffering and death, we ask: How do we respond to such profound love? Holy Saturday invites us into stillness, a time to wait, trust, and reflect, even in uncertainty. Are we steadfast in our faith during life’s quiet and uncertain moments? Then comes the joy of Easter Sunday. We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His victory over sin and death, and the gift of new life. Are we truly living in the joy of His resurrection? God Bless, Amutha
